Design and Development

At AFP, our package design engineers bring a combined total of over 200 years experience to your challenge. Each project starts with a discussion of your packaging needs based on product geometry, fragility levels, production and shipping processes, and aesthetic and environmental goals. Our team then examines a range of potential materials and approaches before proposing a prototype carefully designed to excel in three critical areas: cost, manufacturability and performance.

Once an initial concept is designed, we use our sample table to build a prototype, which is then tested according to the customer’s requirements. After analyzing the resulting test data, the design is either approved or revised and retested until all protective goals are met. When the prototype is finalized, pricing estimates are generated and a proposal is submitted to the customer for review.
